What’s the Future of Workplace Well-being?

The future of workplace well-being is a complex question, and I was delighted to have the opportunity to discuss it with author and workplace culture expert, Panu Luukka. Panu has decades of experience studying workplaces in Finland and around the world, and has authored two books on the topic of company culture.

During our discussion, we covered subjects including how a “both/and” style of leadership is important for building a future-capable organization that is flexible, adaptable, and able to inspire its people with an action-oriented vision for what’s next.

We also delve into the reasons why Finland continues to rank among the happiest countries in the world and how work life in the country influences Finns’ overall happiness and well-being.

Panu discusses his advice for leaders to develop their competencies, including how they can build deeper connections with their employees through expressing vulnerability, increasing transparency, and decreasing the power distance between them and their people.

Last but not least, he shares how the essentials of building a future-capable organization don’t lie within AI or technological advancements, but in the strength of human connections.
